AccuFLEX Continues Success at RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships

     The AccuFLEX JLG Ultraboom shaft which was used by Sean "The Beast" Fister last year to capture the OPEN Division Title at The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships was far and away the #1 shaft in play at this year's Finals by a margin of nearly 2 to 1!  While the Top 30 money winners on the PGA Tour competed for one of the richest titles on the tour, only the pros playing graphite shafts designed by United Sports Technologies (UST®) captured first- and second-place at THE TOUR Championship.

Masterfully balancing low torque, weight, spin and launch angle, the popular Proforce® V2 graphite shaft by UST generated the optimum launch angles and increased ball speed with less spin to win the fantastic finale to the 2006 PGA season. The Australian-born champion shot a 66 on Sunday that secured a three-stroke victory playing Proforce V2 shafts in his Titleist driver and 3-wood. Meanwhile, the runner-up — and No. 2 golfer in the world — used a UST Proforce 65 shaft in his driver.  “We congratulate this year’s winner at THE TOUR Championship,” says Gene Simpson, vice president of sales and marketing for UST brands. “UST’s high-performance graphite shafts maximize distance and are designed to extremely tight tolerances so they deliver unparalleled consistency. The Proforce V2 shaft possesses an extremely low torque design which is optimized in each V2 model to work with a variety of players using today’s 400cc to 460cc driver heads. The trend in larger driver and fairway wood heads has increased hit-ability for many golfers, but in most of these larger heads, the center of gravity (CG) has been moved further away from the center line of the shaft, a design factor which places more stress on the shaft and causes more twisting of the clubhead. The low-torque V2 allows the golfer to keep the clubhead more square upon impact and, thus, helps reduce back spin, enhances shot dispersion and transfers more energy to the ball for explosive distance. 

Unlike other shafts on the market, the Proforce V2 utilizes a proprietary graphite fiber orientation to enable the shaft to recover faster when loaded or flexed and to give the shaft an incredibly stable feel in the golfer’s hands. Optimizing the orientation of the high modulus fiber for lower torque and enhanced flexibility, the V2 provides unparalleled stability and consistency, and balances the tip section for a medium ball flight with increased ball speed, while reducing spin for superior control.
